Padlocks on the fence, train below. Manhattan, Spring 2023. Will Salkeld shoots the scene from above a New York train cut, the chain-link as foreground, the train pulling up the tracks. Contemporary colour photography, documentary by approach, urban by subject. Steel, rust, the lock and the line.
Will Salkeld is an Australian travel photographer, based in Sydney. He works in colour, across coastal, lifestyle, architecture, and urban subjects, photographed on his travels through the Mediterranean, the Americas, Asia, and along the Australian coastline. His pictures centre on coastal lifestyle and the way light, geometry, and a place's everyday rhythm hold together in a single frame. His work sits in the lineage of Slim Aarons, Steve McCurry, and Martin Parr: observational, composed, and lifted by colour. Will prints with High Society Gallery on archival grade paper.
Every artist we publish is a partner.
High Society Gallery works directly with the artists behind the work. We publish each edition with them, and when a piece sells, the artist who made it earns from the sale, directly.
That is not how most art prints reach a wall. Stock libraries and open print runs keep the artist anonymous and far from the sale. We built High Society Gallery the other way around.
When you collect a piece here, you are collecting work the artist stands behind. Their signature printed on the piece, and your purchase supports the person who made it. Real art, by real artists, supported the most direct way there is.
Fine art photography should be protected and displayed which is why we offer complimentary custom framing on all of our pieces for customers.
Our premium hardwood frames are available in black, white and a beautiful natural wood. Each frame is hand-crafted with a sheet of artist-grade, UV-protected, shatterproof acrylic and comes with easy hanging hardware so your artwork is ready to hang as soon as it arrives.
All of our frames are shadow box frames. We believe this is the premium framing style. Shadow boxes make a photograph more definitive by adding extra depth between the artwork and the acrylic. It is an absolutely stunning method of framing and the preferred choice of most photographers, galleries and designers.
Every print bears the artist's printed signature, included as a mark of authenticity on every piece we publish.
Due to extremely high demand each piece can take between 2 to 3 weeks to print, mount, frame and ship. You'll receive a tracking number from us as soon as it's in the mail so you can keep an eye on things.
Each photograph is printed and framed just for you in the size and frame of your choice. That means we are unable to accept returns or exchanges. We are also unable to make any changes or cancellations to orders after 24 hours.
If for any reason your new artwork arrives in anything other than perfect condition please let us know and we will repair or replace the piece!
